I am Kerry, one of the welfare officers for Four of Clubs and a parent of a club member.
If you have any concerns or questions regarding yours or your child’s welfare, you are welcome to contact me. More information about the Welfare officer’s role can be found on the British Fencing Website and the Four of Clubs website. https://www.britishfencing.com/welfare-zone https://www.virtualfencingclub.com/welfare.html I attended the following workshops last year · Sportscoach UK ‘Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport’ workshop. · British Fencing’s ‘Time to Listen’ (TTL) workshop · British Fencing’s En Garde Ready – Introduction to the Welfare Pack I recently completed Mental Health for Sport and Physical Activity through UK Coaching and First4Sport. If you need someone to talk to or any support with yours or your child’s mental health I am happy to be contacted. I am a qualified Person-centred counsellor and have worked with both adults and young people. In recent years I have mainly offered one to one counselling but for several years I worked with Triumph Over Phobia which offered group support in managing phobias, general anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder. I believe that peer support is valuable in helping to manage our mental health and I am happy to be a part of this team. I will be available at some of the Zoom meetings currently offered during this time of lockdown. |

Mental Health and Wellbeing
It is becoming very clear that the Coronavirus crisis is having a significant impact on the education and mental well being of our young people and will probably continue to do so for some time to come. Our Welfare Officers have assembled these resources to help parents deal with these challenging times and we hope they will be of use. On Thursdays at 5pm, welfare officers and coaches of the club are available online via Zoom for any family who wishes to talk about these issues, ask for help or just have someone to chat to. The invitation to these is posted on the clubs WhatsApp group and can also be requested by emailing fourofclubs@btinternet.com
