Four of Clubs @ Leek
Tuesdays 7pm - 9pm
Brough Park Leisure Centre, Brough Park, Leek ST13 6A
Due to the continuing Covid-19 situation, there are numerous constraints and limitations we have to operate under, so it is important to read all the information on this page and to check back regularly for any updates and changes. We appreciate that this can seem like a hassle, but it is the price we pay for being able to do any fencing at all at this time.
What Fencing Equipment Do I need to bring?
All fencers should come in full competitive kit - underplastron, chest protector (for girls/women), jacket, glove, mask and breeches as well as weapons/bodywires. All equipment thatis not being worn should be in a bag that can be zipped shut. Bags should remain zipped shut while unattended.
Do I need to wear a face mask?
All fencers must arrive and leave wearing a face mask. Face masks must be worn at all times when in the hall and between fights. Fencers who prefer to do so, may wear a Leon Paul mask liner when fencing instead of a face mask. For use of masks outside the hall, please follow guidance from Centre Staff
How long do the sessions last?
At this time, the session will be one hour long.
What are the procedures for dropping off / Collecting?
Please follow the rules of the centre and the instructions of the staff when arriving and leaving.
WHat Procedures are you putting into place to keep Fencers safe?
We are following the guidelines issued by British Fencing -
Fencers must complete a Covid-19 screening before attending and have their temperature taken and recorded upon arrival.
Fencers will be in separate 'bubbles' of no more than 6 and will not be interacting with members of other bubbles during the session.
Hand Santisers will be available by the entrance and must be used by all on entering the hall and leaving.
There will be no sharing of personal equipment and scoring equipment will be sanitised between uses.
Sparring will take place according to specially adapted Four of Clubs rules which enforce distance between fencers and make actions such as fleches impossible.
Can parents come in and watch?
At the request of the management, there will be no admittance to spectators during the sesssion.
Full information on our Child Protection and welfare policies can be found here.
